Are you a UT Austin student searching for your perfect apartment in West Campus? At Rambler, we’ve helped hundreds of students find just that. With personalized tours and a qualified leasing team, we can help you find your perfect floor plan.
Our leasing office is conveniently located on the first floor of the building, just left of the main lobby.
To help you get the most out of your tour, we’ve created a guide on what to expect during your tour of Rambler, as well as how to prepare before and how to proceed after your tour.
Before Your Tour
Before you come into the leasing office, make a list of your priorities in housing. Do you already have roommates and know how many bedrooms you want? Is there a specific view you want? Do you have to have your own bathroom? Or would you be okay to share? Knowing what you want in housing will help make your tour personalized, helpful, and timely!
Here’s a list of things to consider:
- Price range
- Floor plan style (studio, 4×4, 6×6, etc.)
- Amenities
- Windows
- Bathrooms
- Pets
- Parking
You should also come with a list of questions. Do your research! This will be a year-long commitment, so it’s important to know all the information you need. To help you get started, we’ve compiled a list of 15 questions to ask on a tour.

Booking a Tour
Once you’ve compiled your list of preferences and questions, book a tour at our leasing office! If you already have roommates in mind, try to find a time that works for all of you. This will help the process go smoothly since you’ll all have the same information. If you’re reading this and want to stop by the office now, we accept walk-ins as well!
You should plan to be on this tour for around 45 minutes. Though it may take less time than that if you have a good idea of what you’re looking for, allotting an hour gives you plenty of time to ask questions, discuss with your roommates, and start your application!
Coming In to the Office
When the time comes for your tour, you’ll come to Rambler located at 2513 Seton Ave. The office is open from 9am-6pm Monday through Friday, 11am-4pm on Saturday, and 1pm-4pm on Sunday. You’ll be greeted by one of our Leasing Managers or Community Assistants who will take you through the building, on the tour, and answer all your questions!
Be sure to download our apartment tour checklist to help you evaluate your options.

One perk of coming in for a tour is getting to try handcrafted coffee or matcha from our in-house coffee bar, Daydreamer. Daydreamer is located inside the building, available for purchase to all Rambler residents.
Exploring the Building
On the tour, you’ll get the full Rambler experience. You’ll start in the lobby, check out Rambler’s unique record room, and then grab a drink from Daydreamer.
You’ll take the stairs up to the second floor study lounge to see the collaborative study areas as well as the private study rooms.
Then you’ll take the elevator up to the 6th floor to check out our model unit, The Sotol. This fully furnished apartment is a great way to see all of Rambler’s elevated fixtures and furnishings and get some decor inspiration!
After that, you’ll head up to the 8th floor to see some of the amenities. You’ll stop by the yoga room, the saunas, the relaxation rooms, as well as the corridor study area that’s located on every floor of the building.
Once you’ve taken some pics of the view, you’ll head back down the elevator to the two-story fitness center and the spin room fit with Pelton bikes.
Back on the first floor, you’ll finish off the walking part of the tour at the outdoor pool and courtyard.
Looking at Floor Plans
After the walking portion of the tour, you’ll head back to the leasing office to look at floor plans. Since Rambler is completely occupied, you will view the floor plan renderings. This is the time to pull out that list of preferences you made earlier! The Leasing Manager or CA working with you will ask you what kind of floor plans you’re interested in, and will use your list to help find the unit that may be best for you. Rambler has over 40 floor plans, so having that list will make this process much smoother!
You’ll begin discussing each floor plan you’re interested in, weighing pros and cons, and ultimately decide on a unit that fits your preferences the best. It’s important to remember that there might not be a floor plan that checks every single box, but use your Leasing Manager or CA as a resource to talk through your concerns so they can help you find a unit that suits you best.
Start your application
Once you’ve found the perfect floor plan for you, it’s time to start your application and secure your unit. The application should take you around 10 minutes to complete, and you can complete this in the office on an iPad so you can ask our team any questions you might have. Be sure to bring your driver’s license or government ID! If you’re an international student, I would highly recommend completing your application in the office in case you run into any questions or concerns as you work through it.

Guarantor Information
The application will ask you for your guarantor information. If you’re asking yourself what a guarantor is, it’s essentially someone such as a parent or guardian who qualifies you to sign a lease. Most UT Austin students don’t qualify on their own from their monthly income and credit score, so your guarantor is taking on the liability of the rental rate for you. Before starting your application, talk to your guarantor and get their information. Once you finish your portion of the application and lease, they will get an email with their portion to complete.
Signing your lease
Once you finish the application, you’ll be prompted to sign your lease. Read through it as you sign and ask questions as you go. Once you’ve signed the whole agreement, you’re a future Rambler resident! Congratulations!
I hope this gives you an idea of what to expect on a tour of Rambler, and how to make the most of your time! If you have any questions, or want to book a tour, contact the Rambler leasing team or stop by the leasing office!
